Where Money Goes

The money that is raised goes directly to the charities that we support. With start up and administrative costs donated by Amanda Tapping and Damian Kindler, all of the money goes to the children. Sanctuary for Kids has chosen the Nepal Orphans Home and Watari’s TTIP1 and TIPPY Programs in Vancouver as the first charities with which to launch the foundation.

Directors, Jill Bodie and Amanda Tapping, will be travelling to Nepal this November to visit the orphanage and to meet with other agencies doing meaningful work to educate and prevent child trafficking, and to  re-connect with families/and or rehabilitate those who have fallen victim to such fate.

In addition, we have sent funds to Haiti and Pakistan through Save the Children Canada to help with disaster relief in both of those countries. We want to continue to support these countries as they continue to rebuild their infrastructure. Sanctuary for Kids has contributed to the rebuilding of the Miriam Centre in Haiti. This is one of the only facilities in the country which houses, educates and loves Haitian children with cerebral palsy, severe autism, and other major life challenges. The new centre will increase its current capacity of 30 to 100 residents. Further support for programs in Pakistan are in the planning stages for 2011.
