January 18, 2010 Sanctuary for Kids Supports Relief in Haiti |

We have donated $10000 to relief efforts in Haiti through the Save the Children Foundation. The Canadian government is matching donations to February 12th. In addition, all online donations this month until February 12th will go to the children of Haiti and will be doubled through this program. We are committed to helping with disaster relief now, as well as forming partnerships in upcoming months to help with longterm rebuilding and stabilization families and children in the country. |

After hosting a highly successful "Create your own Monster" contest, the network that airs 'Sanctuary' in Germany is now inviting fans from all across Europe to take the fun and creative winning drawings home - on t-shirts, mugs, bags and much more! Sci Fi Germany is donating all the proceeds from the merchandise sales to S4K.

We are so pleased to share results from our November launch. The first charity auction campaign, combined with the AT4 Convention, and online donations has raised over $42000. This sort of tremendous beginning means that we will be supporting new charities in the 2010, and thus helping more people. We are undergoing our vetting process now and hope to announce new additions in February. (More auction info….)

A highlight of the AT4 convention in the UK last week was when Amanda Tapping’s former Stargate SG-1 co-star and friend, Richard Dean Anderson (Stargate SG-1, MacGyver), made a surprise phone call to her on stage pledging his support of Sanctuary for Kids. The fans were awestruck when Anderson also offered up a personal call from him to the highest bidder and donated other memorabilia from the Stargate franchise to support the cause. (More on AT4...) |
